SQL Nexus and SQL 2000

Aug 19, 2008 at 3:03 PM
I'm assuming that SQL Nexus does not support reading trace files from SQL2000? I attempted to do so and received a few errors ... "Divide by zero error encountered", "Database doesn't have necessary data to run this report", "OutOfMemoryException". Just wanted to make sure that this is working as intended.

Thanks

Ok, now the ReadTrace_Main report is working ... this is good enough.

When I try to import/load the SQL 2000 profiler traces captured by PSSDIAG I get an error: System cannot find the file specified.... etc

What Am I doing wrong? Are SQL 2000 Profile Traces supported by SQLNexus? Please help.

Actually when I launch Nexus I get the following error: Unable to locate readtrace. Nexus won't be able to load or analyze trace data.  Am I missing components?

1) Check the version of RML Utilities on your machine.

2) If you don't have the latest version, then download and install the latest  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7EDFA95A-A32F-440F-A3A8-5160C8DBE926&displaylang=en

3) If you already have the latest version, then go to  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Corporation\RMLUtils and do orca.exe /R from there.

I followed your recomendation of running "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Corporation\RMLUtils and do orca.exe /R" since I already had the lates RML installed.

It still failing to load the tc files into the sqlnexus db. I getting a login failed message, which I don't understand. See meesage from readtrace log:

I know I have login rights (sa privileges) on sqlserver1, because I can loginmanually to it. What RML is trying to use to login?

ReadTrace will connect to the specified SQL Server database using Windows Authentication. Check the SQL Server errorlogs and find out if there are any login failed error messages from the time that you were trying to load the trace files. Check if you can connect to the instance sqlserver1 using SQLCMD.

Command: sqlcmd -Ssqlserver1 -dsqlnexus -E
