Readtrace Error aborts import of .trc files

Jul 23, 2011 at 1:12 AM

Hi,

I ran a replay of a trace captured from production using ostress on a QA box while simultaneously running Perfstats 2008 script SD_Detailed. When I try to import the .trc files using SQLNexus, the process fails at 11th file with error:

-----------------------------------

A serious error condition (1 == cColHeader.fNullable) has been encountered.
    Input Error: Column bitmap indicates NULL but column metadata indicates the column is not NULLABLE.
    File: .\rpcbinary.cpp
    Line: 992
    Return Address: 0x000000013FB939F5
    Function: CBinaryRPC::Initialize
For input errors validate the input with another qualified utility such as Profiler, Explorer, ...

------------------------------------

The trace file opens up fine in profiler. Please advice.

Thanks,

SCN

What version of RML Utilities are you using? The latest public version of RML Utilities is available @ http://blogs.msdn.com/b/psssql/archive/2008/11/12/cumulative-update-1-to-the-rml-utilities-for-microsoft-sql-server-released.aspx. If you are not on this version, please try importing the trace file using this version. If it fails, then could you send the ReadTrace.log to sstlbugs@microsoft.com.
